At the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, this scene of tall pine trees and open wet prairie, with cypress dome in the background, suggests the beauty of the western Everglades. The Sanctuary, part of the National Audubon Society, provides protected habitat for many magnificent creatures and plants. I saw for the first time, wood storks, roseate spoonbills and alligators in their natural habitat.
