Tomorrow is the final open studio event of my artist residency. It’s been an amazing experience. To have this dedicated space and commitment to practice has given me support and structure to grow in my creative life unlike anything before. I spent several hours over the last few days framing, pondering and hanging some of my art. I’m already feeling a little nostalgic, while also looking forward to the “next chapter.”
Working out the layout for my gallery wall display. It was oddly satisfying to create the little miniatures of my paintings that I could play with and slide around before getting down to business and driving nails into the board. Echoes of a childhood delight in small things and manipulation of imagined worlds.
